Earlier this month, after a long wait, I got accepted to Georgia Tech’s Online Master of Science in CS program. I also considered UIUC professional Master’s program, but now decided to go with the Tech.
The Georgia Tech has an amazing reputation (both within US and internationally) and I believe that its new initiative to cooperate with Udacity for online delivery looks very promising.
When it comes to specialization, then there are quite a rich selection of them available:
- Computational Perception & Robotics
- Databases & Software Engineering
- High-Performance Computing
- Interactive Intelligence
- Machine Learning
- Social Computing
I will go with dual depth in Systems and Networking. My secondary aim is to take number of classes in Machine Learning, which quickly becomes my passion these days.
I got accepted for the pilot cohort, and we will start in January 2014. I plan to take no more than couple of graduate level courses per semester, so should be able to finish the program within 2 - 2.5 years.
